WEATHER POLICY
(Applies to Mechanical Failure also)
We keep an eye on the weather for the safety and protection of children, staff and families.
DO NOT ASSUME THE PRESCHOOL IS OPEN OR CLOSED, ALWAYS INQURE WHEN WEATHER CONDITIONS CHANGE
Safety: Your child's safety is always our first concern and sometimes that means closing the facilities due to dangerous weather conditions. It is our goal to be open, however, if weather changes create dangerous conditions, the preschool will close or be cancelled until weather conditions are again safe for parents and children. If mechanical failure should occur within the building, such as a water shutoff or heating/cooling failure, creating circumstances that may endanger the safety of the children, the preschool will close or be cancelled until those conditions have been corrected.
Communication when weather changes: If weather changes or mechanical failure creates unsafe conditions which require the preschool to close, communication about the preschool closing will be provided in the following ways. Please keep your emergency contact phone numbers current with the preschool.
Preschool IN Session – Closing to occur during preschool day
Parent or contact person will be called by phone by preschool staff
Preschool NOT IN Session- Closing to occur next preschool day
Call Preschool Phone Message- 918-747-2440
Check TV stations- Channel 6 or 8
Check "Alerts" on the home page of the website- www.playandlearnpreschool.org

The general weather policy is that if Tulsa Public Schools are closed due to weather, Play and Learn Preschool will also be closed. HOWEVER, THE PRESCHOOL MAY NOT ALWAYS FOLOW THAT POLICY. ALWAYS check the above sources to determine whether the preschool is open or not.
